Hello Winooski Gardeners,
If you've ever wondered who was behind the cottage garden in front of City Hall, it's Operation Bloom, a volunteer garden group that has been beautifying public spaces in Winooski for 20 years. With money donated by local, concerned businesses and private citizens, we buy compost, flowers, shrubs and small trees and put them to work. The city of Winooski helps our quest to make beautify Winooski by cleaning out beds, distributing compost, mulching and watering throughout the hot summer. The results of our partnering show in lovely garden beds where there was once crabgrass & litter.
We welcome any dirt-inspired spirit to join us! You don't have to be a seasoned gardener, just someone who enjoys planting along with like-minded Winooski citizens. Bring your favorite tool and meet us at the front or back of city Hall on Wednesday at 6:00 pm.
We'll be planting around town for the next few weeks (usually midweek), so join us when you can. Look for postings on FPF, the City website or call me, Janet, 802.598.6582 for the next planting date.
