The Monkton Museum and Historical Society will be holding a Memorial Day Observance on Monday, May 25th at 2:00 p.m. at the East Monkton Cemetery on the corner of Mountain and Church Roads. The graves of soldiers buried in the cemetery will be visited and brief information about each soldier will be read. Parking will be along Church Road. In the event of rain, the observance will be held at the East Monkton Church. Carpooling to the observance is encouraged. Everyone is welcome to join us to honor the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country in times of war as well as other deceased soldiers who proudly served our country.
