“Welcome-Back-to-the-Slate-Valley” Day is sponsored by Poultney Area St. David’s Society. It is a family day for all ages as we share our regions’ heritages and appreciation of it with the Penrhyn Choir. Our goal is to not be repetitive with things they’ve done/seen on their past two visits. Events are RAIN OR SHINE! All are welcome.

Family of the late Gwilym Roberts, author of “New Lives in the Valley…”, have already signed up to be a vendor at this market event. Come and meet the family and get your copy of this out-standing book of Slate Valley history.
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Stitchy Women , Main Street – will be hosting the Pelletier’s of Castleton , Vermont , makers of Vermont maple products and fried bread dough.
11:00 a.m.- Welcoming Ceremony at the Town Hall lawn
11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. – American Music Theater: Bluegrass Sit-in - music by the Poultney Bluegrass Society at and co-hosted by Taps’ Tavern, Main Street (Taps will be open for food and spirits from 11:30 a.m. until closing). All bluegrass musicians are welcome to join with them and should connect with Laird Christensen of the Poultney Bluegrass Society.
*Note: It is possible that sporadic brief flash mob performances by the choir members may occur anytime throughout Tuesday.
NOON to 4:00 p.m. – Welsh Market in front of Williams Hardware, Inc ., Main Street, co-hosted by Williams Hardware, Inc.
Members of t he Penrhyn Choir will be at this location under the awning . Stop by to chat with them. Their music cd-roms will be available here.
3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – American Music Theater: a mixture of folk, country and rock music by The Wheat Missles ; performance under the veranda roof at and co-hosted by the LiHigh School, Depot Street located between Taps Tavern and The Frame Shop.
5:00 p.m. – “Good-byes for now”– and the choir hopes that many will come hear them perform in concert on Wednesday, 2 September, 2015, 7:00 p.m. at the Queensbury Union High School, Aviation Road, Queensbury, New York.
