Past event
May 17, 2015

Sunday, 1:00-4:30 at the Poultney Public Library

"To Live a Local Life" is an event that brings together speakers from around Vermont to inspire us to live a local life through renewable energy, a commitment to local food, and using homemade music to build our communities. Speakers include representatives from Green Mountain College, Rutland Area Farm to Food Link, UVM Extension, and Northshire Grows.

At 1:10 we are starting with Chris Callahan from UVM presenting on Technology & The Local Food system.

At 1:35 we have Nora Linburg from BBA presenting about how to connect with foods locally from a students perspective.

Following Nora, from 2:00-2:30 we will have The Poultney Blue Grass Society performing amazing music.

At 2:30 we will then have Laird Christensen speaking on how homemade music can help build our communities

Following Laird at 2:55 we will have The Poultney Bluegrass Society performing again.

Last but not least at 3:20 we will have Eleanor Tison from the Rutland area farm and food link speaking about how RAFFL helps connect people to local foods.

The event was created to be used as a Senior Capstone Project. A project where each LiHigh Senior changes the community or the world in a significant way. Thano,, this year's senior created this fabulous event with the hope to inspire and influence today's generation by informing them on reasons why they should buy from the local farmers markets, eat food locally, support the amazing local bands, and decrease the impact on the environment by using renewable energies. Please come to support Thano and his message
