Corrected posting:
Each Wednesday morning until mid-October, a group of bicyclists heads out for a different scenic ride in or near Bennington County. Wednesdays on Wheels (WOW) began in 1996. A series of some three dozen different rides, originally mapped out by Gene and Jean OBrien, has been refined over the years. The rides are of moderate difficulty. On May 20, the first WOW ride of 2015 goes from River Road, Arlington, into nearby NY. The ride begins at 9 a.m. at the Arlington Recreation Area parking lot on Vermont Route 313W. The parking lot is about mile from the junction of Routes 7A and 313W. The ride goes west out of the parking lot, followed by a left onto River Rd. It takes River Road to the end, then a left onto Route 313 to the N.Y. State picnic area. To return, its a reverse course. The total distance is 16 miles. The road is mostly packed dirt, with some pavement. Newcomers are welcome to join WOW rides. For more information, contact Monica Knorr at monica.knorr@gmail.com or 802-362-2359, or just come to the start of the first ride. Helmets required.
