New Event! River Arts and Sundog Poetry present: The Craft of Small Publishing in Vermont

River Arts and Sundog Poetry Center are pleased to announce Vermonts newest literary event, The Craft of Small Publishing in Vermont: a celebration of Vermont book publishers. To kick off the summer reading season, The Craft of Small Publishing in Vermont is offering activities for all ages including: a Vermont publisher panel, presentations by Vermont book artists, a curator-led introduction to treasures from the University of Vermonts special collections, a hands-on bookmaking workshop, storytimes for children and a day-long book fair teeming with titles by Vermont publishers including Barnes MacQueen/Champlain Books, Chickadee Chaps & Broads, Fomite Press, Green Writers Press, Honeybee Press, Sundog Poetry Center, Plowboy Press, as well as some of Vermonts independent publishers. See below for more details about the participating publishers!

Vermont poet and writer Julia Shipley hatched the idea for a unique event that would call attention to the rich tapestry of book publishers, authors, book artists and illustrators in Vermont. She pitched the concept to River Arts and Sundog Poetry Center, both of whom have missions that support the arts and poetry in Lamoille County and beyond, and the event took off from there. The Craft of Small Publishing in Vermont promises to be an extraordinary opportunity for the community to experience the wealth of literary sources in our small state, and the organizers hope to build it into an annual event.
