Shrinking Lawns for a Bountiful Fruit Harvest
Please join us at the South Burlington Library, May 21, at 5:30-7pm for a discussion together of lawns and alternatives to lawns, either fruit or vegetables or ground covers or perennials. Today, people are thinking that lawns need too many chemicals to stay in shape and use up too much gas in mowing them. Lawns are an old habit from England in centuries past. Since we no longer have flocks of sheep to cut our lawns, people are replacing them with edible landscapes and flowers that attract pollinating insects. Come to learn about this new movement across North America. We'll discuss what some people are trying and what might be possible for others beginning to cut down on lawn space.
