To Live a Local Life: a Ted-Style Afternoon

Past event
May 17, 2015, 1 to 4:30 PM

When: Sunday, May 17, 1:00-4:30pm
Where: Poultney Public Library
What: To Live a Local Life is an event that brings together speakers from around Vermont to inspire us to live a local life through a commitment to local food and using homemade music to build our communities. Speakers include representatives from Green Mountain College, Rutland Area Farm to Food Link, UVM Extension, Burr Burton Academy, and the Poultney Bluegrass Society.

The event was created as a Senior Capstone Project by Thano Smith, a senior at LiHigh School. The Senior Capstone is a project where each LiHigh Senior is tasked with making the world a better place. Thano's goal for To Live a Local Life is to inspire and influence today's generation by informing them as to why they should buy from the local farmers markets, eat food locally, and support the amazing local bands.
