Waitsfield, VT - A fundraiser concert and party will be held Friday, May 29, at the Valley Players Theater in Waitsfield to benefit the Mad River Valley Community Fund.

Two local bands, Ragged Company and Sugar Shack, have teamed up with local merchants to supply the sounds and spirits supporting the benefit.

Cornerstone Pub will provide beverage services for the event, featuring Lawson's Finest Liquids, another partner in the night's festivities, which will be available on tap alongside additional Vermont beer and wine.

"It's a wonderful gesture on the part of the musicians and the other contributors. We feel fortunate and excited to have such a fun way to help the Community Fund meet its goals," said MRVCF board president Jon Jamieson.

The Mad River Valley Community Fund is a non-profit organization established in 1989 to specifically respond to residents of the Mad River Valley in need of interim financial assistance or whose needs are not being served by established programs.

The two bands each perform a varied mix of original music and ear-catching covers in a danceable, funky-rock style.

"We're all really looking forward to this opportunity to both celebrate and support the valley community," said Steve Sharp, bassist for both of the evening's bands.

Entry to the fundraiser will cost $10 at the door. Proceeds from admissions and beverage sales will directly benefit the MRVCF.

Doors open at 6:00pm. All ages welcome. For more information please contact:
