Come join us Saturday at Smilie School on Rt 2 next to the Bolton Valley access road for our 9th annual plant and yard sale, along with free fun activities for kids, food for sale and live music featuring Bolton's own Woodstack, 9-2, rain or shine. Stock up on starts for your garden, grown with the Smilie students and finished in the school's greenhouse. These plants are getting big and will be ready to go in the ground soon. There are Sungold orange cherry tomatoes, Matt's Wild red cherry tomatoes, Romas for sauce, Pruden's purple, a larger heirloom slicer similar to Brandywine, Marglobe, Moskvich, Indigo Rose and Green Zebra tomatoes, as well as King of the North and Purple Beauty bell peppers and jalapeno peppers. There are also marigolds, zinnias and Green Finger cucumber starts as well as a selection of donated perennials. UVM Extension Master Gardener will have an advice table for all your gardening questions. Proceeds benefit the Smilie Community Association which helps fund field trips, after school activities and the school's large veggie and fruit garden in back of the school. Check it out after you peruse the yard sale, buy your plants and grab a bite to eat. Hope to see you there!
