Among the many activities at the Town of Barre Forest Open House Saturday, May 16, will be fairy housebuilding at 1 pm. Aldrich Children's Librarian and bagpiper Ian Gauthier will pipe us to a spot in the forest for a story, followed by the building of small houses using mostly natural elements such as twigs, pods, pinecones, and anything else we find in the forest. We hope this activity will attract younger children and their parents. Because there are some wet spots along the trails, rain boots are advised. We will have some things for kids to take home so that they can build houses in their own yards. Who knows who will take up residence?!?
