On Monday, May 18th at 6:00 p.m. at the Lanpher Memorial Library in Hyde Park, there will be a discussion about Improving Soil Organically with Dr. Phil Chiaravalle.
The presentation will include methods of adding organic matter to improve overall soil health. Learn about the basic structure and nature of soil and about the role of pH, fertilizers and lime. The importance of cover crops will be emphasized along with the significance of various soil agents, like mycorrhizae and bacteria.
Dr. Chiaravalle is an excellent presenter with a great sense of humor and down to earth (pun intended) style of teaching. We are very glad to have him back. There may also be a surprise additional discussion of the importance of biochar too!
