Autism -- A panel discussion with Dr. Josh Kantrowitz, Andrea Wasson, and Dr. Judith Markey

Tuesday, May 12, 7 pm

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopment disorder that affects an estimated 1 out of 88 children. It is often characterized by social impairments (unresponsive to people, focusing intently on single objects, withdrawal), communication difficulties, and repetitive motions. Those with ASD fall along a spectrum, with classical ASD the most severe and Asperger Syndrome falling at the milder end. ASD varies in its degree of severity, but occurs in all ethnic and socioeconomic groups and affects every age group.

This multidisciplinary forum hopes to begin effective professional collaboration in our community as we support individuals with autism and their families. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers.
