The Shelburne Craft School turns 70 years old this month! We are inviting the community to celebrate with us,
I think of it as a good old fashioned hoedown!

WHO: Shelburne Craft School
WHAT: 70th Anniversary Party and BBQ
WHERE: Shelburne Craft School, 64 Harbor Road, Shelburne VT, 05482
WHEN: May 30th, 4-7pm
COST: FREE and Open to the public
WHY: This year marks the Shelburne Craft School’s 70th anniversary as an incorporated non-profit. Woodworker and Reverend J. Lynwood Smith actually started when he invited a handful of youngsters from the Shelburne Village School to learn the fundamentals of woodworking in 1938, but the organization wasn’t official until 1945. To celebrate, the School is throwing a big party on campus.

“We tend to do our events off site,” said Executive Director Sage Tucker-Ketcham, “but this time, the Board of Directors and instructors and staff have really wanted to bring the party to our beautiful campus.”

On May 30th from 4-7PM, the Shelburne Craft School will host a 70th Anniversary Party & BBQ. The event is free and everyone and their friends are welcome. There will be live music by Lila Webb and Family, craft demonstrations, kids activities, Shelburne Vineyard, Ice Cream, Birthday Cake and a few surprises. There will be a demonstration of the Obvara firing technique, an Eastern European technique that dates back to the 12th century.

Come and celebrate 70 years of community and craft.
