As a member of the UVM Extension Master Gardener program, Jerry Leonard is again giving a free gardening class on three separate Saturdays; May 23, and 30th, and June 13th. The classes will be from 9 am to 3 pm at Lyndon Institute's Buschmann House greenhouse and garden on Center Street in Lyndon Center. All three classes will be the same so pick one that fits your schedule and contact him to enroll. This class was offered in past years and was well the time for everyone who attended. I have had fellow UVM Extension Master Gardeners attend in the past who said they learned a lot and it was well worth their time to attend.
Jerry will go over site selection, micro climate creation, container gardening, soil analysis, and fertilizing on the first half of the day. The second half of the day is seed starting, container selection, direct seeding, transplanting, plant care, weed control, pest control and disease control. If you would like to know more about gardening or are an experienced gardener that would like to draw on my lifetime of gardening experience he would welcome any and all who would attend. Just let Jerry know you will be attending as he will be copying materials and materials only has room for ten people per class. Have a great summer gardening season.
