Celtic Music Session May 6

Past event

There will be a Celtic Jam Session on Wednesday May 6th from 8 to 10 P.M. at 51 Main St. in Middlebury. This is an open session and all are welcome to play traditional Scottish and Irish tunes on acoustic Instruments. Indoor small pipes are welcome. Please no electric or amplified instruments or highland pipes. This session will focus on traditional rather than contemporary tunes. Players of all abilities from professional to amateur are welcome to play swap and learn jigs, reels marches and airs.

All are welcome to come and listen to local musicians sharing tunes in an unrehearsed and spontaneous venue. Sessions such as this have long been the way traditional music has been kept alive and continued from generation to generation and crossed oceans. Vermont’s hills and valleys are well stocked with traditional musicians who do not play in public regularly. Here is a chance to hear tunes from another time played by many talented musicians not often seen or heard in public. So please come and play and listen and eat and drink and be merry in a warm and friendly atmosphere!

This will be the last session at this location until September.

There is another session on May 20th at the Waybury Inn. That session is expected tol go through the summer
