Here’s a fun, new type of event for Waterbury! A Penny Social is a combination auction and raffle. We’re presenting dozens of high-value prizes, donated to benefit the dog park project.
Here’s how it goes down. You purchase tickets at the door, $20 for 20 tickets, and use as few or as many of them to bid on any of the prizes you like. That’s the auction part. At the end of the evening, we randomly draw a single winning ticket from the tickets/bids to determine the winner of each item. That’s the raffle bit of the Penny Social. The more tickets you place for each item, the greater your chance of winning it. In addition, everyone will be entered to win a pawsitively wonderful door prize.
Prizes available include: Spa Day for Two from Stoweflake, $100 gift card to True Value, several rounds of golf at the County Club of VT, a gorgeous Windsor Chair hand-crafted by a local artisan, a massage from Strong Wellness, Kayak or Canoe rental for 2 from Umiak, beauty products from Waterbury Pharmacy, dog supplies & novelties from Stowe Street Emporium, 1 month fitness club membership from Best Western, a framed Dug Nap dog print donated by Axel’s, a Ben & Jerry’s gift package, BBQ grill accessories from Aubuchon, doggie day care vouchers, cool swag from Craft Beer Cellar, Pro Pig and Blue Stone, and gift cards from Blackback Pub, Blue Stone, Bridgeside Books, CC Outdoor Store, Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Jimmz Pizza, KC’s Bagel Café, Maxi’s, Sunflower Salon and more!
Come Bark and Bid, while enjoying the hospitality of Prohibition Pig in the new brewery behind the restaurant on Tuesday, May 12, 5-8pm. Dogs are not allowed, but we think they’ll understand.
