Clyde River Farm and Forest CSA
Get local, organic vegetables all summer long! We deliver right to your door or you can pick up at our farm stand located at the corner of Route 105 and 10 Mile Square Road in East Charleston, VT.

What is a CSA? CSA stands for “Community Supported Agriculture.” A CSA is a seasonal subscription to a farm, in exchange for weekly shares of fresh vegetables all season.

Why join a CSA? CSAs are a great way to ensure a continued supply of farm-fresh food all summer. They help connect farms to their local communities, and help connect people to the food they eat. CSAs give people a convenient way to eat well, eat healthy, and try new vegetable types and varieties. They’re also a good investment: a CSA subscription will actually save money (as compared with buying the same amount of produce from the farm stand or store) over the course of the season.

What’s in it for us? Here at Clyde River, we’ll use CSA subscriptions as start-up to purchase seed and organic fertilizer, make repairs on tractors and other equipment, and pay wages to employees and interns. All these things make our farm run more smoothly and productively, which means we can provide our customers with more high quality produce.

How does it work? Subscriptions can be bought at the beginning of the season in “full shares” or “half-shares.” Full shares are good for families, and provide veggies every week until the end of the season in September. Half shares are half the amount of produce, and also provide veggies every week until the end of the season. Full shares are a better deal; you save significantly on your grocery bill, you have enough vegetables every week all summer, as well as have the option to freeze/can some organic veggies for the winter.

How much does it cost? Full shares cost $325 for the 12-week season, half shares will cost $175 for 12 weeks. The shares offer substantial savings from a farmstand or store prices over the whole summer. Shares may be paid anytime from now until May 25th.

What makes the Clyde River Farm CSA special? Organic produce, no chemicals or preservatives, a 35-year history of stewardship on the land and customizable options

We welcome calls or emails with questions over the next few weeks. We will have an informational meeting at the Northern Forest Canoe Trail Farm Stand on Saturday morning May 16th at 10:00 AM. Coffee, tea and homemade sticky buns!
