Preview of City Council Meeting May 4

Past event
May 4, 2015, 6 to 6:30 PM

Dear Neighbors,

On Monday, the City Council will a special meeting in place of its first of two meetings for the month of May.

We have one item on our City Council agenda. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6pm immediately following the Board of Finance meeting that begins at 5pm.

While there is only one item on our Council agenda, it is an important and celebratory one, particularly for Ward 6. The Council will be voting to authorize the City to enter into a contact for the construction of the Cliff Street sidewalk. Yes, it’s true. Construction on the sidewalk will begin this summer.

There are many of you who have worked hard for over a decade to make this sidewalk a reality. Many have attended numerous NPA meetings, DPW Commission meetings and other public forums to advocate for this sidewalk. I’ll keep you informed of the construction schedule. We are optimistic for a start date in a few weeks.

As with all Council meetings, please keep in mind that you are always welcome to come and speak to the Council on any subject you wish during our Public Forum which begins at 6pm. Clickable agenda items can be found on the City's website: https://www.boarddocs.com/vt/burlingtonvt/Board.nsf/Public All Council meetings are televised live on BT Channel 317 and streamed live to your computer or phone.

As always, I welcome your questions and concerns. Please email or give me a call over the weekend or on Monday.

It looks like spring is here and then some. I hear 70 degrees and lots of sun this weekend. I hope you all enjoy a terrific weekend.

My best,
Karen
