Next Friday and Saturday, May 8 & 9, come to the Big Picture in Waitsfield for a first-of-its-kind event: Betty's Beer Fest!
Betty's will feature top quality beers from breweries such as the Alchemist, Fiddlehead, Bissell Brothers and more, all of whom employ women in integral roles throughout their companies, whether they brew the beer or or take on other leadership positions. The goal of Betty's Beer Fest is to showcase women already thriving in the industry and encourage women to learn more about beer and brewing, and be inspired to discover their own passion for craft beer. But this isn't a "girls rule, boys drool" kind of event - we want guys to come too! We want the beer these women have a hand in brewing to be enjoyed by EVERYONE!
Friday will feature the award winning movie, The Love of Beer, starting at 6pm followed by a Panel and Q & A session with a diverse and talented cross-section of women in craft beer from 7:30-8:30pm. Things will end with a Networking Night with Industry Professionals that is open to the public - no advanced tickets needed for just the Networking Night.
Saturday from 1pm-5pm we will have a Beer Tasting featuring beers brewed by companies with female brewers and/or women in leadership roles. A post party in the Big Picture will start at 5pm, featuring a tap-take over of Betty's Brewers and live music from Steady Betty!
