Celebrate FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2015 @ Deborah Rawson Memorial Library, Saturday, May 2nd from 10:30 1:00 pm.

10:30 - Ben Cohen will present Comics Literacy with a fun and interactive break down of how to read comics and their role in storytelling. He will also cover History of Female Cartoonist in the Comic Book Industry from the invention of the Comic Book through how female cartoonists are changing the industry in dramatic and wonderful ways. Ben Cohen is a Jericho Cartoonist and Educator, with Art Education training from St. Michael's College and a MFA & BFA in Sequential Art from the Savannah College of Art and Design and strongly advocates diversity in Comics.

11:30 - Samantha - a MMUHS student shares the Manga artwork she created on her tablet/iPad.

12:00 - James Kochalka, will share his works showing how his cartoon expression blends the real and the surreal which include real-life characters such as his wife, children, cats and friends. He will conclude with a cartooning lesson workshop. James is a comic book artist and writer, and rock musician. He is known for his popular children's book series, Glorkian Warrior, Johnny Boo and Dragon Puncher. James graduated from UVM and is an instructor at the cartooning school in White River Junction, Vermont. In March 2011 he was appointed the first Cartoon Laureate in Vermont.
