Green Up Day is this Sat. May 2nd. Join your neighbors and friends in the 45th year of the Green Up tradition - cleaning up Vermont's sidewalks, roads and byways of trash and recyclables. It's a pretty cool volunteer tradition, and as usual, Plainfielders are organizing a Green Up event in our town.
To get involved, head down to the Plainfield Rec. Field this Sat. from 9-12 to pick up your official Green Up day Green garbage bags and mark the route you'll be covering. Deliver the bagged debris, tires, etc. picked up from alongside the road to the Town Garage on Cameron Rd. until 3:00 PM. If possible, please try to separate all recyclables and recycle them yourself.
Important Note!! - This year many wonderful students from Twinfield Union School are volunteering their time on Thursday, April 30th to help clean up roads in Plainfield and Marshfield. Please stop by the Rec. Field on Saturday to find out what roads in our towns still need cleaning so we don't duplicate efforts.
Thank you everyone for your help! Just as there are no billboards cluttering our highways, let's ensure that there is no trash cluttering our roads. With you, your family, and your neighbors' help, we can get this town spiffed up pretty for summer!
