Don't forget that this Saturday, May 2nd, is our community's Green Up Day. Join with others to clean up our roadsides after winter's snow has melted away and exposed unsightly trash: beer cans, cigarette packs, plastic bags galore, old tires and other surprising items thrown by the wayside. It's a great way to spend time outdoors with friends and family while being of service. The fun starts at 9:00 a.m. at Cavendish Elementary School, where you pick up green trash bags, work gloves and road assignments. At noon there will be a free barbecue picnic on the Proctorsville green, sponsored by the town. You may bring a side dish to go along with the hamburgers and hot dogs but it's not required. In case of rain Green Up Day will be held on Saturday, May 9th. See you there!
