Acorn Energy Co-op is holding an expert panel: How Low Can You Go? Home Energy Efficiency Explained at the Ilsley Community Library at 7 pm on Wednesday, April 29. Net Zero, Passive House, High Performance home - what does this mean for your house? Panelists include Richard Faesy, Energy Futures Group; Jean Terwilliger, AIA, LEED AP architect; Peter Schneider, VEIC; and Alex Carver, Northern Timbers, 2014 EVT Builder of the Year. The panelists will address

* current trends in housing performance and design
* the sweet spot – from an economic and efficiency and cost/benefit point of view

They'll address concerns and questions as in
It's often said that it's easier to achieve goals with new build over renovation.
* How can you improve home performance for an older home at reasonable costs?

What are the most critical strategies to consider for sustainable energy use? (envelope, fuel sources, etc.)
And what financial incentives are available from Efficiency VT and in the form of tax deductions or credits from the State and Federal governments?
