Americorps Vista 50th Anniversary

Past event
May 20, 2015

Hi Neighbors,

In 1965, the VISTA Program (Volunteers in Service to America) was created as part of The War on Poverty. Originally called “the Domestic Peace Corps,” the VISTA program sent individuals all over the country to work with communities and help fight poverty. This year SerVermont is celebrating the accomplishments and the legacy of those who have served over the past 50 years.

We are looking for VISTA alumni from across the state to share their stories of service. It doesn’t matter where you served but if you are currently living in Vermont, we would love to hear from you! Alumni will also be invited to a 50th Anniversary event coming up on May 20. Please contact Robyn Baylor at robyn.baylor@state.vt.us to learn more.
