Lovingly ripped off from the motion picture, “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” SPAMALOT is the Broadway hit and irreverent parody of the Arthurian legend. SPAMALOT comes to the Town Hall theater April 23-May 3, with a cast of 25 local actors, singers & dancers playing characters from dashing knights to rude Frenchmen, to bodies who are just “not yet dead.” The Lady of the Lake and her Laker Girls, killer rabbits, catapulting cows, and the somewhat odd Knights who say “ni” are also part of the adventures and dangers awaiting King Arthur and his knights of the very very very round table in their quest for the holy grail. SPAMALOT is all singing, all dancing silliness and pokes fun at theater while reveling in the gaiety of live performance in a truly crowd-pleasing way!

Nominated for 14 Tony Awards, and winner of Best New Musical for 2005, SPAMALOT was seen by more than two million people during its initial run. Watch for references to “Monty Python’s Flying Circus” skits, such as The Lumberjack Song, Spam, and the Dead Parrot Sketch, as well as for some of Broadway’s musicals being skewered along the way including a spoof of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Fiddler on the Roof, West Side Story, Man of La Mancha, Les Miserables, and The Producers. In an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, John Cleese (founding member of Monty Python) said: “I defy anyone to go and not have a really fun evening. It’s the silliest thing I’ve ever seen.”
