Curious about composting? Save the date—Saturday, April 25th at the South Hero Community Library.

The South Hero Community Library and Northwest Vt. Solid Waste Management District (NWSWD) present:

Intro to Composting for Kids, 10:00am-11:00am: Children grades K-6 learn the basics about waste reduction and composting. Learn about where our trash goes, the impact of trash on our environment, and how kids can help by composting.

Introduction to Home Composting, 11:15am-12:30pm: Turn your yard and food waste into compost and learn how Vermont’s new Universal Recycling Law helps residents and businesses better manage their waste's impact on our state. Learn what composting is, why it's important, how it works, and the various types of composting in order to help you determine which is best suited to your individual needs.

Both classes are free and will be taught by Aaron Shepard of NWSWD and UVM Extension Master Composter.
