Is a zero energy home possible? More importantly, is it affordable and desirable? We’ll look at the benefits of renovating for zero energy and a selection of ordinary homes that are on the path to zero.
Zero energy homes are homes that use only electric energy (and in some cases wood heat), while providing that energy through a renewable energy system. The three major components of a zero energy project will be discussed in the context of existing homes: energy conservation, efficient zero-ready heating and renewable energy.
