At the end of January, the Harwood Union Music Department launched a project with all band and chorus students, grades 7-12, the goal being that every student will have composed their own piece of music by mid March. Out of the 100+ compositions that were submitted, 12 Harwood musicians were selected as featured composers at HU's April 16 "Opus 1" debut concert.
Their pieces will be rehearsed and performed with professional musicians throughout the day, Thursday, April 16th, culminating in a public concert of their work at 3pm on the Harwood stage. Instrumentation includes: brass quintet, voice, piano, clarinet, & percussion. Please join us for this great event, celebrating creativity and original student work after school on Thursday.
