Rising Tide Vermont is offering a workshop at the Vermont Workers Center (294 N. Winooski Ave) from 1-5 pm on Saturday, April 18th.
As we wind down from a fall and winter that saw our movement take over New York's financial district during #FloodWallStreet, occupy Governor Shumlin's office during the Time's Up, Rise Up! action and defeat Phase 2 of the Fracked Gas Pipeline, we are gearing up for a season of intensive organizing and action to stop Phase 1 of the Fracked Gas Pipeline and build a more robust movement for climate justice in Vermont.
This workshop uses a variety of exercises to explore the root causes of the climate crisis, assess proposed solutions, and offer tools and analysis for building a social movement capable of fighting for the systemic change we need for a healthy and livable future. The workshop is free (though we always accept donations) but we do want you to register so we know how many people will attend. You can register at risingtidevermont.org.
Our goal through these workshops is to train people in the principles of climate justice, share skills of movement building and organizing, and empower each other to take direct actions that confront the root causes of the climate crisis.
If this sounds like something you are interested in, please fill out the registration form at risingtidevermont.org and let us know you will be attending!
Please feel free to contact risingtidevermont@gmail.com if you have any questions.
