Ever gaze at someone perched high in a tall tree inspecting, doctoring or deftly dismantling some or all of it? Ever wonder, with a mix of queasiness and awe, what it’s like to be that guy? Lincoln’s going to tell you. He’ll also explain what skills sets and knowledge a certified arborist has, and what paths led him to this challenging, exhausting, and yet -- for him -- supremely joyful and meditative work.

Learn about tree health and common ailments, Dutch elm disease and the emerald ash borer. Learn what led Lincoln to start his own small scale, small footprint tree care service. (Meaning, among other things, the avoidance of environmentally intrusive, expensive-to-hire machinery.) In prior forestry work he was the go-to person when the need arose for climbing towering or inaccessible trees without the aid of buckets or cranes.

This will be a loose, informal indoor talk and slide show guided in part by what people want to know about. Don’t be shy. Ask questions. Bring your curiosity. The tree doctor is in.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Lincoln Earle-Centers is the owner of Sylvan Tree Care based in Marshfield, VT, with a reputation for safe, thoughtful and environmentally low-impact methods of tree care. He is certified by the National Society of Arboriculture and has been a practicing arborist for the past ten years.
