A year ago, the Selectboard had an informal conversation about utilizing the second floor of Town Hall for more community events. They talked of places like Tunbridge that regularly hold Town Hall dances, concerts and special events.

With that in mind, I came up with the notion of an Open Mic night to bring together musicians (of all abilities and any genre), poets, storytellers, and even those willing to tell a joke or two for an evening of fun.

The first Open Mic will be Tuesday, April 14 from 7p.m. to 9 p.m. on the second floor of Town Hall. A sound system will be set-up. There will also be a bake sale with proceeds donated to the Wallingford Summer Recreation Program Scholarship Fund.
