Clarina Howard Nichols Center Open House

Apr 16, 2015

Join us on April 16th, 2015 as we celebrate the opening of our newest community space for awareness and advocacy in Lamoille County.

The new Community Center, 31 Main Street, Morrisville, operated by the Clarina Howard Nicholas Center (Clarina), has been open to the public for several months, quietly serving families and adults in need.

Founded in 1981, the Clarina Howard Nichols Center has been providing services, support, and shelter to victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Lamoille County for over thirty years. Services include a 24-hour hotline, emergency shelter, advocacy within the legal, healthcare, government and housing systems which a survivor may need to access, emotional support for adults and children, and educational outreach programs. Clarina works to effect social change within the community through increased public awareness.

The Community Center currently houses a new supervised-visitation program, two advocates trained to deal with sexual or domestic violence, and the Outreach Organizer. The Open House, from 5:30 – 8 PM, is a chance to meet the Clarina staff and board members, ask questions, and find out more about the services offered. A free raffle, with items donated by many area businesses, will be held at the end of the evening. Light refreshments will be served. Information about any services offered through Clarina can be found by calling (802) 888-2584.
