Mt. Abe Revised Budget / Robinson Budget Reconsideration

A Petition for reconsideration has been filed and the voters of the Starksboro Town School District will reconsider a budget of $3,005,169.00 on May 2, 2015. The original warned amount was $2,809,709, then an amendment to increase the budget by $195,460 was voted from the floor at Town meeting. The stated intention of this amendment was to reinstate staff cuts that were part of the warned budget. This unheralded increase to the budget, prompted the petition for reconsideration of the amended budget amount of $3,005,169, a total increase from last year’s budget of $354,312. The reconsideration will be voted from the floor at a special School District meeting on May 2, 2015. This is once again a floor vote, meaning YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO VOTE!

Mt. Abe original warned budget was $14,058,551, the revised budget for the revote on April 14 is $14,022,738 a decrease of $35,813, a total decrease from last year’s budget of $68,566. This is an Australian ballot to be voted at the Robinson Multi Purpose Room on April 14, Polls are open 7 to 7.

Also, as a reminder, the Addison Northeast Supervisory Union Board decreased that budget by $75,000 at the annual meeting on March 24.
