Past event
Apr 13, 2015, 6 to 9:30 PM

Dear Neighbors,

On Monday, the City Council will convene its second of three meetings for the month of April.

Our Council evening will begin with a work session on the 10 Year Capital Plan that the Mayor spoke of in his State of the City address last week. For the first time perhaps in Burlington’s history, the City is developing a capital plan to address long-term needs both for the City and other departments, including collaborating with the School Department. The public is welcome to attend this work session from 6 to 7:15pm in Contois Auditorium in City Hall. Following this presentation, we will have an Executive Session regarding organizational efficiency contracts for Burlington Electric Department.

Immediately following the work session, we will convene the Council meeting which is scheduled to begin at 7:30pm.

We will begin with the Public Forum following by a presentation and public comment on the Housing Action Plan. On our deliberative agenda will be a communication from Mike Kanarick, the Mayor’s Chief of Staff with a Legislative Update. We have one resolution for an authorization to enter into a license agreement to maintain seating in the City’s right-of-way for the Gryphon. We have a scheduled Executive Session to discuss the Adoption of the Updated Local Emergency Operations Plan as presented by Chief Seth Lasker of the Burlington Fire Department. This will be followed by a resolution adopting this Plan. We also have an Executive Session on collective bargaining following this resolution.

Prior to the executive sessions, we will have Council committee reports, comments from Councilors and the Mayor.

Please keep in mind that you are always welcome to come to a council meeting and speak to the Council on any subject you wish during our Public Forum which begins at 7:30pm.
Clickable agenda items can be found on the City's website:

Please keep in mind that at all Council meetings are televised live on Channel 317 on Burlington Telecom.

As always, I welcome your questions and concerns. Please email or give me a call over the weekend or on Monday.

I hope you have a good weekend.

My best,
Karen
