Groundbreaking Event - Municipal Complex

Past event
Apr 13, 2015

The time has come after about 3.5 years following the flooding from Tropical Storm Irene! A groundbreaking event for the new municipal offices, library and historical society is planned for Monday morning, the 13th at 10:00am. Governor Shumlin and Congressman Peter Welch, among other important officials, will be present to help kick-off this community event. All the permits and majority of funds have come into place. Although there is snow on the ground today, Monday is supposed to be a beautiful day. Parking will be at the Dac Rowe recreation fields. The renovation of the old library for municipal offices and the historical society, and new library addition will meet the needs of Waterbury's residents for decades to come. It is the outcome of countless hours of planning, community meetings, public input, studies, more community input and now we are ready to start! The construction and transformation will take 40 weeks and be completed in mid-January 2016. At that time a ribbon cutting celebration and open house will be held for all to see the new municipal resources.
