ATTENTION DOWNTOWN RESIDENTS AND BUSINESS OWNERS
What: Noise Ordinance Discussion
When: Tuesday April 14, 2015 at 7 pm
Where: O’Brien Community Center- Community Room
Please join your neighbors and officers of the Winooski Police Department in a relaxed informational conversation about the proposed noise ordinance changes pertaining to entertainment permits, within the City of Winooski. We want your input.
The City Council is currently deliberating lowering the acceptable noise level coming from downtown businesses, from it’s current level of 100 decibels to between 70-100 decibels. Part of the meeting will include a short walk to the rotary to show interested people what different decibel levels actually sound like.
The police department would like to hear what you have to say about any proposed changes, and take input to relay back to the council on how you feel about this issue. Winooski is a growing, vibrant community with an ever expanding downtown of popular bars, shops and restaurants.
Our goal is to meet with both the business owners and residents to see how everyone can live and work in the neighborhood with respect towards each others needs.
The police department is interested in having a liasion assigned to this program. When needed the liasion would meet with both residents and business owners to discuss any ongoing, or new issues that arise. We believe that being a good neighbor works both ways and our hope is to build a sustainable relationship to deal with community issues through respect, relationships and communication.
Hope to see you there!
