"Ground Operations," a documentary about veterans who come back from combat to take up organic farming, is being shown at the United Church of Craftsbury in Craftsbury Common. The screening will take place on Sunday, April 12, at 4 pm. The movie is being held in conjunction with the Sterling College Veterans Club.
The documentary follows an ensemble of combat men and women who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. They share why they joined the military, how war changed them, how daunting the return to civilian life has been, and how they found organic farming and pasture-raised livestock to be an answer for them. Their stories are both inspiring and pragmatic as they find their next mission, food security for America.
This event is free and open to the public. Discussion and refreshments will follow the screening. Any donations received will go to Habitat for Humanity.
