The Flying Pig Bookstore welcomes author Nicole Griffin on Tuesday, April 7th at 4:30 as she introduces her new mystery book for ages 7-10, Smashie McPerter and the Mystery of Room 11.
Are your kids mystery fans? Better yet, fans of funny mysteries? Bring them to hear about two third-grade best friends, Smashie and Dontel, who are investigating the curious question of who stole the class hamster. Smashie herself is a prime suspect, since everyone knows she finds hamster feet creepy. That's not Room 11's only problem, either. Someone is creating a sticky situation by booby-trapping items in the classroom with glue. And the whole class is struggling under the helm of the world's worst substitute teacher! Full of red herrings and very funny observations, Smashie McPerter hails the arrival of a smashing new detective.
Nicole Griffin is a graduate of Vermont College of Fine Arts and the author of the teen novel, The Whole Stupid Way We Are.
This will be a very fun event, free of charge and open to the public. We recommend this event especially for ages 7 to 10 and adults.

"Griffin writes a consistently smart book, layering subplots and red herrings on her central mystery and unapologetically using $20 vocabulary." —Kirkus Reviews
