"Big Data: Measuring Emotions in Real Time". Chris Danforth, UVM math professor, will discuss: What can be learned from the huge volume of words we type on social media such as Twitter? What issues does this data mining raise? He will describe the "hedonometer project", which he says reveals the general level of happiness in our society.
