What a great way to end our second season of "P.M. Sundays" concerts at the Richmond Congregational Church. Laura Cortese has a vision for her band's sound: bold and elegant, schooled in the lyrical rituals of folk music and backed by grooves that alternately inspire Cajun two-stepping and rock-n-roll hip swagger. It's appropriate then that the quartet, featuring Cortese, call themselves Laura Cortese & the Dance Cards.
All of the members of the Dance Cards are Berklee College trained and are steeped in both bluegrass and classical traditions. All fiddle and string players of any kind are going to want to make sure they attend this concert at 4:00 p.m. on April 12 at the Richmond Congregational Church in Richmond as these are some of the best performers anywhere. Contact Don Sheldon at 434-4563 or don@valleystage.net for tickets and more information about their performance or visit www.vallestage.net to buy tickets online.
We'll be announcing next year's lineup of 8 unique concerts along with the Valley Stage performers for this year's 10th annual music festival taking place on Blackbird Swale in Huntington on Aug. 8.
