Vermont State House, April 8, 2015, 7:30 PM---"Benediction: Lincoln and The Battle Hymn of the Republic", a free program hosted by the Friends of the Vermont State House at the conclusion of Vermont's commemoration of the Civil War Sesquicentennial.
With a theme focusing on President Lincoln's eloquent and promising Second Inaugural, delivered just weeks before he was shot, the evening will be a mix of speakers, music and a look at Vermont's response to the assassination shortly after the news broke in April, 1865.
A reception will follow the program and refreshments will be served.
