Prescription opiate abuse and drug addiction have a tragic impact on Vermont's young people, their families, and communities. Bess O'Brien addresses this in her film, "The Hungry Heart," which will be shown twice on Thursday, April 9th at U-32 auditorium, free of charge, open to the community and to kids 12 and over. A panel discussion, including Raina Lowell from the film, will follow both the in-school showing 12:15-2:35 and the evening showing at 6:30-9 pm.

For more info, contact jemerson@u32.org. Students will need signed permission slips to attend the daytime film, available in the U-32 guidance office. Organized by U-32 Junior Signe Goddard to raise student and community awareness around opiate addiction as part of her Branching Out program study.
