If you are interested in family history there is an open house this Saturday, Sept 7th, at the Vermont Genealogy Library at Fort Ethan Allen off Route 15 in Colchester. They will help visitors use their resources (4,000 books, Vermont records, many online databases like Ancestry.com), organize their research and meet other genealogists. Guests can take a tour of the library and watch several demonstrations of software in their classroom. It is free, open to the public and they’re also holding their annual book sale.
