Please join us Saturday Sept. 7th for some stargazing at Mobbs Valley. This is the final summer event in the Natural Places of Jericho hosted by the Conservation Commission. We will gather just before 8pm in the open meadow of Mobbs Valley off of Fitzsimonds Road to admire the night sky and check out some of the astronomical features visible at this time of year.
This event is intended for people of all ages and will only be a short walk from the Fitzsimonds Rd parking area. Even though it is a short walk, we suggest you bring a head lamp or flashlight for safety as well as a camping chair or blanket for comfort. We will have a couple of telescopes set up to for sharing, but feel free to bring your own viewing equipment.
As parking space is limited at the lot on Fitzsimonds, we will have a carpool/shuttling location setup at the triangle of Fitzsimonds and Barber Farm Roads. Plan to meet at 7:30 pm at the triangle to be shuttled over to the trail head.
Finally, this event is unfortunately subject to Mother Nature. If it is going to be raining or completely overcast, we will have to cancel the stargazing event.
Fingers crossed for clear skies and see you this Saturday night!
