Right now there are a huge variety of edible and inedible, colorful and crazy mushrooms out there! Have you been looking for an entry point into the endlessly fascinating world of mushroom foraging and wildcrafting? Search for gourmet and medicinal mushrooms with Ari Rockland-Miller, co-founder of the blog The Mushroom Forager. The workshop this Friday at Knoll Farm will begin with a slideshow introducing the region's most delicious and distinctive mushrooms. Then, we will head out into the fields and forests around Knoll Farm and search for the mushrooms we just learned about, while learning about many different wild edible plants and berries as we go. Ari will discuss sustainable harvesting and methods of cooking, tincturing, dehydrating, and freezing the wild harvest. 2:30-5:30 pm. $20. Call 496-5690 to RSVP
