On Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 7 p.m., poetry readings and a reception will take place to celebrate the exhibit The Museum as Muse for Six Vermont Poets: “No Ideas but in Things” at the Sheldon Museum. The poets are: Janet Fancher; Kari Hansen; Ray Hudson; Janice Miller Potter; Mary F. C. Pratt; David Weinstock, all members of the Spring Street Poets Workshop of Addison County, Vermont. They searched Middlebury’s Sheldon Museum’s galleries and storerooms and were inspired. The result is a curated exhibition of artifacts selected by the poets and the poems they triggered. $5; museum members free. The exhibit The Museum as Muse for Six Vermont Poets: “No Ideas but in Things” runs from March 10 to April 11, 2015. There will also be a gallery talk and readings on Wednesday, April 1 at noon. The Sheldon Museum is located at 1 Park Street in Middlebury across from the Ilsley Public Library. For more information call 802/388-2117 or visit www.henrysheldonmuseum.org.
