You too can become a complete angler by learning the art of fly tying with Alan Erdossy this coming Saturday at the Worcester Town Hall. The program will run from 11 AM – 4PM, & the fee of $45 includes all materials- both beginners and experienced tiers are welcome.
All fly anglers should have a basic knowledge of fly tying. Not only will it allow them to customize favorite productive patterns and reproduce them economically, but it will teach them to appreciate and recognize a well-tied or unique fly.
This day at the vise has evolved over the years to introduce/review the techniques necessary to creating a well-tied fly. If this is the only fly tying class you ever take, or the first in a life-long effort, you won’t be disappointed.
Instructor Alan Erdossy will guide participants step by step, through the tying sequences for his favorite flies for local waters. A fly fisher for nearly 60 years, Alan began teaching fly tying in 1970. His classes have been offered at The Fly Rod Shop in Stowe, and W.S. Hunter’s in NH. He is VP of Education on the Northeast Board of Directors of the International Federation of Fly Fishers.
Participants should supply their own vise and tools, and bring a lunch if desired and beverage of choice. Loaner vises etc. are available – contact the instructor to register, home phone 223-5125 or email alan@broadsidei.com.
