“Fair is foul and foul is fair” in Macbeth, the last of Shakespeare’s great tragedies. After Macbeth meets three mysterious witches who prophesy that he will rule Scotland, he and his wife become part of a twisted tale that examines the brutal consequences of unchecked ambition. Shakespeare’s play is filled with betrayal, the supernatural, and an epic battle for the crown. Macbeth is performed by The Acting Company, which has received a Tony for Excellence in Theater, numerous Obies, and the Los Angeles Critics Circle Award, in association with The Guthrie Theater.
