Please join us for this texting and driving educational program is tailored to youth who are driving age, or approaching driving age, and is also for anyone who drives and has a cell phone, or anyone who is just interested! It includes a 35 minute video highlighting stories of the personal impact of texting and driving told in the first person by victims and responsible parties in texting and driving cases nationally. This powerful film, titled From One Second to the Next, is filmed by Werner Herzog.

One of the stories captured in the documentary is the story of Debbie Drewniak, who was struck by a car driven by Emma Vieira several years ago in Colchester, Vermont. Following the film, Emma Vieira and Liz Drewniak-Brigante will share the personal impact of the crash with the group and open up the conversation to youth who want to ask questions or share thoughts. At the end of the presentation, youth and adults will have the opportunity to sign the “It Can Wait” pledge to prevent texting and driving.

Thursday, March 19, from 6:00-7:30 at Alumni Hall (Barre Civic Center- where the auditorium and skating rink is).

Hosted by the Greater Barre Community Justice Center: 802-476-0276 www.gbcjc.org
